You are doing more than you think.

Around four in the afternoon you run out of what you have, and the house asks for more anyway. By nine at night the same sentence arrives: I am overwhelmed, and this is a long way from what I pictured.

Some days it feels like survival.

Most days it feels like repeating yourself until your patience is gone. Like correcting the same behavior for the hundredth time and longing to know it is getting through.

Like trying to keep their hearts close to Christ, hold the line as their parent, and still be someone they want to be near, and wondering if you are managing any of the three.

You love your children, and you are ready for a plan.

I know.

and I found a way through...

I NEED TO TELL YOU SOMETHING

featured in

Here is what most mothers are doing, and I say this with zero judgment because I understand exactly how it happens:

You are guessing.

Your child does something wrong and you respond with whatever you have left: frustration, a consequence that may or may not make sense, a lecture you have given forty times before.

And then the same thing happens tomorrow. And the day after that. And the day after that.

Almost every parenting approach out there sits in one of two ditches. Domineering parenting hands you order at the cost of warmth. Gentle parenting hands you warmth at the cost of order. You want both, because connection is what you are actually after, and both belong together.

This course holds both together.

I'm Meg Marie Wallace.

I'm a wife to Matt, a mother of seven, and the creator of The Mattering Things Signature Method.

For nearly two decades, I have been doing the real, daily, unglamorous work of motherhood — and learning, often the hard way, what it looks like to lead a home with intention rather than instinct alone.

This method was not created in theory. It was built in real life — in the middle of hard moments, sibling conflicts, bedtime routines, and the slow work of forming hearts through repetition and grace.

Every principle inside this course has been lived, tested, and refined in my own home across every personality type and every season of motherhood.

I now teach mothers the same practical framework I wish someone had handed me twenty years ago.

welcome

Have you ever had a mama a stage ahead of you in motherhood and you just crave being around her to learn from and follow her parenting? For 10 years I have always said that of Meg. “I just want to be near her and watch her, to follow how she raises her children, to be able to ask all the questions and gain all the wisdom from her!” If you don’t have a mama in your life a step ahead and even if you do - this course and intensive will be immensely valuable to your fam.

Meg is genuine, raw in her motherhood journey, with you in the grind, but full of wisdom and practical tools and encouragement that motherhood is a joy filled opportunity not a draining thing to survive. So many of my own scenarios I run past her with my 5 children and she always has ideas, thoughts and tools for me to use. She’s experienced it all with her own children and from that offers real life practices that not only help your children’s obedience and your home life - but much more valuable than that, her practices and ideas bring you to mothering their hearts not just their behaviors.

The goal is your children’s heart captured and in love with Jesus - Meg has given me passion and hope for shaping that in my children and tending to their souls along with their behaviors. After doing the cohort, I feel poured into and seen by Meg - my heart is full and able to pour out into my home.

This course has been such a gift to me and my family. It has helped guide my steps forward in parenting with wisdom, encouragement, and practical tools that I can actually apply in everyday life.

I am especially grateful for Meg and the way she led us mamas through the course.  She  brought so much support, understanding, and guidance that felt personal and compassionate. She always pointed us back to Christ and gave him the glory. I felt so encouraged, and equipped to grow as a parent.

I highly recommend the mattering things intensive to any mom looking for Christ-centered encouragement and practical support. It has truly made a meaningful difference in our family’s journey.

..Yet now that I’m in the thick of motherhood myself, I’ve discovered there are still so many questions, struggles, and dreams for my family that can’t be answered in a few “phone-a-friend” conversations. I needed the opportunity to step back and intentionally dive deep into what I truly pray and strive for as I lead my own home.

This world is filled with curated content and polished appearances, but I can wholeheartedly attest that the Meg behind closed doors is exactly who you’ll encounter here. She has a genuine love for the Lord and a passion for equipping women, and she never compromises truth for comfort.

While the course itself is incredibly valuable, I encourage you to invest in the full intensive if you’re able. There is something uniquely transformative about being personally known, challenged, encouraged, and shepherded by Meg. Her wisdom doesn’t simply inform you and teach you. I found that it completely reshapes the way you pursue Christ, love your husband and children, and embrace the sacred calling of motherhood. More than information, she offers intentional discipleship, helping you prayerfully build a vision for your family that is rooted in the gospel and lived out with purpose.

Meg has been such a gift and inspiration to me as a wife and mother. She is full of wisdom, and I truly trust her advice and insight. Seeing the way she lovingly leads her seven amazing children gives me so much hope and vision for my own family.

She has helped me realize that teaching and training my children can actually be fun and life-giving instead of overwhelming. Every conversation with her leaves me inspired and stirred to pursue more in my home- more joy, more peace, more laughter, more obedience, and more intentionality.

Meg challenges me in the best way not to settle for “good enough,” but to intentionally raise each of my 4 own children into who God uniquely created them to be. Her wisdom and example have deeply impacted me and the atmosphere of my home.

REAL MOMS. REAL CHANGE

Build the foundation beneath your motherhood. You will learn how your identity, your view of God, and your sense of purpose shape the atmosphere of your home — moving from performance and pressure to security and steadiness.

The Foundation

Sessions 1–3

Learn how to parent with both grace and truth. These sessions will help you move beyond behavior management and begin forming your child's heart through connection, clarity, repentance, and relational authority.

The Framework

Sessions 4–5

Discover the practical core of the course. You will learn the difference between training and punishment, how to proactively teach skills before problems arise, and how to use simple, repeatable practice to build emotional, relational, and behavioral skills in everyday life.

The Method

Sessions 6–8

Learn exactly what to do when your child resists, struggles, or refuses to cooperate. You will gain a calm, repeatable framework for correction that helps you respond with clarity, consistency, and connection.

When They Don’t Follow Through

Session 9

End the course with renewed vision and endurance for the long road of motherhood. This session will encourage you to stay faithful in the unseen work, trust the process of repetition, and remember that lasting fruit often grows slowly.

Never Growing Weary

Session 10

What you will learn to teach

Nearly every hard hour in your house belongs to one of these nine.

take THE free assessment

Two minutes. You find out the one skill that would steady your house this week, and you get that skill taught start to finish.

05. Respect and tone

The words he chooses and the tone he uses with the people around him.

07. Staying close and safe

Parking lots, crowds, and the child who bolts.

09. Relational formation

Sibling conflict, repair, forgiveness. The goal the other eight exist to serve.

02. Transitions and flexibility

Turning off the screen, leaving the park, moving from one thing to the next without a fight.

08. Daily routines

Mornings, bedtimes, the scaffolding that holds a whole day upright.

04. Independence

Children who take care of their own things and help run the house.

06. Social awareness

The behavior outside of the home at grocery store, the restaurant, a room full of adults.

03. Emotional regulation

The meltdown that runs its course and ends, without taking the afternoon with it.

01. Attention and response

You say his name once. He stops, looks at you, and waits. Teach this one first, because the other eight get easier once it is in place.

FORMATIONAL

Every teaching session in this course rests on one belief: motherhood is the place where you are both shaped and equipped. Shaped by God into the image of Christ through the ordinary work of raising children, and equipped by Him with real skill, language, and practice to lead your home well.

Motherhood is not something you survive. It is the instrument God uses to grow you, and it is a craft worth learning with excellence. This is what I hold together in every session: God is using you to raise your children, and He is using your children to raise you, degree by degree, into who He made you to be.

WHY IT MATTERS NOW

These years are going to pass either way.

A mother who keeps guessing spends them repeating herself, and reaches her child's tenth birthday still having the same arguments.

Teaching a skill at four takes a fraction of the effort it takes at eleven. At four, your child is delighted to practice with you. At eleven, he has seven more years of habit to undo.

You are changing too. The woman you become in these years is the one your children will remember.

What's included

04

The Greenhouse Community

Three months in The Greenhouse. A group of mothers doing this work alongside you. Ask questions, share what you are learning, and hear from women who understand what you are building. I am in there regularly.

03

The Digital Family Mission Statement Builder

A guided tool to help you name what your family is actually for, so the way you parent reaches past your four walls. This is the piece that turns daily correction into something with a direction, a home built on purpose rather than reaction.

05

Lifetime Course Access

The full method, yours to return to for every season and every child. Come back when a new stage begins, when you need the vision again, when you are ready for the part that did not apply last year. This work grows with your family.

02

Ten Session Workbooks

A downloadable workbook for every session, built to take each teaching off the screen and into your actual week. This is where the vision becomes something your hands can hold on an ordinary afternoon.

The Mattering Things Signature Method

Ten video teaching sessions with me, walking you through the full method from the ground up. This is the heart and the handles together: the deeper why beneath your parenting and the real, practical handles for living it out at home.

The questions I get most

Before you decide

01 of 05 →

05. Is this really about making my children behave?

04. Am I too late? I have already made a lot of mistakes.

03. What if I try this and still lose my temper?

02. Do I have to finish all ten before anything changes?

01.What does a week actually look like?

One teaching session, whenever it fits. Some mothers watch during naptime with a pen and the workbook. Some watch while they fold laundry and come back to write later.

Then four minutes a day of practice with your child, played as a game while everyone is in a decent mood. That is the whole rhythm. The sessions are yours for life, so a week you miss costs you nothing.

You pick it back up when the house settles. Most mothers move through the ten sessions across two or three months and keep practicing long after the teaching ends.

Do I have to finish all ten before anything changes?

No. Session one hands you something you can use the same afternoon, and the nine skills build in order so each one stands on its own.

Most mothers see the first shift inside the first week, usually in attention and response, which is the skill everything else rests on.

When your child hears his name once and stops, every other correction in your day gets shorter.

That one change buys back more time than any other piece of the method.

01. What does a week actually look like?

What if I try this and still lose my temper?

You will. So do I, and I have been practicing this for sixteen years. The method includes what to do afterward, because repair is a skill your children need to watch you practice.

A mother who apologizes well teaches her children something a mother who never loses it cannot. Your temper is not the disqualifier you think it is.

Guessing is what wears you out, and having a plan removes most of what you have been losing your temper about in the first place.

01. What does a week actually look like?

Am I too late? I have already made a lot of mistakes.

Every mother reading this page has made them, and I have made more than most. Twenty years in, with seven children, I have gotten this wrong in every way there is.

Teaching a skill at four takes a fraction of the effort it takes at eleven, and I would rather say that plainly than soften it. Your ten-year-old also has eight years left under your roof, which is a long time to build something.

Start with attention and response, expect it to take longer, and let your children watch you learn. A mother who says I have been doing this wrong and I am changing it teaches them more in one sentence than most of us teach in a year of getting it right.

01. What does a week actually look like?

Is this really about making my children behave?

Obedience is the scaffolding rather than the building. A child who listens the first time gives you a home with room in it, and that room is where the real work happens: conversations about Jesus, repair after a fight, a mother with enough left at the end of the day to enjoy the people in her house.

If a well-behaved child were the goal, I would have written something much shorter.

The goal is a child who loves Jesus and loves the people God put around him, and obedience is what holds that up.

That's okay. This is a real investment — of your money, your time, and your heart. I'd rather you feel confident walking in than pressured into something you're not ready for.

If you have questions or want to talk it through, I'm here.
